My Matinee Sunday at North Park Center

Ok, Ok, I know this is so very mainstream. Bear with me. A dear friend of mine and I have a standing Matinee date. So since the movie was playing at North Park, that’s where we went. After the flick was over he ran off to do errands which left me to my own wandering.

I gotta say it’s been a while since I’ve hit the Mall. Mother Byrd usually holds me captive there during the Holidays. But, after having a really nice quiet meal at Green House Market ( seriously try the Chia Seed pudding). I had a nice time actually searching out all of the sculptures, original paintings (read Warhol), and even the Tesla exhibit.

What I was anticipating to be my usual 30 min power walk spin ended up being more than a 90 minute stroll. I even shot a clip out in the very lush courtyard. So that being said, Sojourn out to the very air conditioned North Park for some sightseeing – and maybe some people watching.

7/29 – 3 Places To Have A Great Breakfast/Brunch

Hello, Hello! The other day, I was talking with friends considering where to eat and I was hard pressed to choose a place to go have Breakfast before the Brunch crowd got into full swing.

So, of course I had to sit, think, and go out and about. Since I love all things Mom and Pop, I prefer not to lean toward the chain eateries. Here are a few of my picks:

  1. Buzzbrews – They have multiple locations around Dallas and they are open 24 hours!  You have your pick of quite a few breakfast choices as well as multiple coffee flavor choices. And as an added bonus, they have free Wi Fi. Check out their website:

  2. Spiral Diner – What I think is so special about this spot is that they are Vegetarian& Vegan with quite a bit of Gluten Free and Soy Free items. Music to my ears since I do happen to have food allergies.  Don’t worry, their menu items very much appeal to the Carnivore crowd. Check them out at :

  3. El Jordan Cafe in Bishop Arts – You want a home cooked Mexican Breakfast, here ya go. Our friends here are only open for Breakfast and Lunch VERY reasonably priced. You won’t be disappointed with your meal in the cozy diner style place. Sorry, no website – go and be adventurous!

Crossroads Diner – Definitely worth the breakfast crowd wait for their decadently delicious sticky buns.Take note, they are only open for Breakfast and Lunch only. Weekends fill up, so get there early.

Pop some tags

My friends, Paul & Peter, and I went out today to celebrate Paul’s birthday. Don’t ask him his age, he’s cryptic about it. But afterwards we went to do one of his favorite things, which is thrift store shopping. It’s where he gets to satisfy his love of gadgets on the cheap.

I’m ashamed to say that I’ve never really delved into the activity – and I LOVE a bargain! TJ Maxx might as well have a parking space set aside just for me (and my Mother).

So, this was especially fun to see racks upon racks of new (and practically new) duds for $10 and under. And I mean really good stuff. I foresee a problem.Below is a quick clip from our visit. Thanks Paul.
