7/14 – Bastille on Bishop

This is a cool yearly event in my favorite of places The Bishop Arts District. It is Family Friendly and basically Free. However, if you want to participate in the wine & food portion, the tickets are available for purchase on Prekindle and run  between $25 – $35.

The event is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the 300 – 400 blocks of North Bishop Ave. Bastille on Bishop is appropriate for all ages.

Bastille on Bishop benefits the Oak Cliff Foundation and Go Oak Cliff.

There will be food and drink for sale, and all items are in the $6 range.


Tickets are non-refundable.

Bastille on Bishop is a rain or shine event.

7/13 World Cup Watching Party – Finals

If you’ve watched no other World Cup game, you will be watching the finals on Sunday. How else will you know what to talk about come Monday? If you’re looking for a place to watch it Downtown Dallas’ Main Street Garden is hosting a free viewing of the championship game on a 9-by-12-foot mobile LED screen.

Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase from City Park Café. Even though you won’t be cheering on the home team, you can still join the cacophony of futbol fans. Party starts around 2 p.m. More information is available at

7/12 Campy Movie Night – Con Air

Come make fun of Nic Cage with our friends at the Grenada Theater tonight! Somehow Nic Cage tends to turn a movie into a campy action comedy. I guess he has to since he has the IRS to pay (ooh did I say that? 😉 )

7/12 – Five Things To Do in Dallas Today

Good Afternoon! I was trying to get this out earlier, but tech difficulty wasn’t helping move things along. Anyhoo, I have a few tid bits here to get you out on this gorgeous sunny day here in Dallas.

1. Taste of Dallas – This event is located at Fair Park. It started with ‘Date Night Friday’ last night and will be going on until Sunday night. Tonight doors will be open until 11 pm. Sunday hours are from 11 am to 8 pm. Family Friendly event with some ‘Adults Only’ Wine Venues.  Tickets start at $12 at the gate (Discounted Tickets can be bought at Walgreen’s for $8) for One Day Admission. More information at

2. Design District Market @ Community Beer Co – Located in the Design District this is a FREE Event. There will be Food Trucks A-Plenty, Dumpster Pools, Local Vendors set up to sell their wares, as well as some Live Music. Party ends at 6 pm

3. Salsa in the Park @ Vitruvian Park in Addison – This event is FREE and open to the public – and yes there will be Latin food as well. Tonight’s Band is Carabali. There will be plenty of Food Trucks available. My recommendation is to arrive early since this is a popular event.

4. Asian Film Fest of Dallas – This fest is one of the country’s largest celebrations of Asian film, spanning a full week and screening more than 50 films, along with parties, and meet and greets with directors, actors and producers from all over the world. Friday started the first full day of the festival and starts with a screening of experimental shorts at 2:30 p.m. and concludes at 9:45 p.m. with the live action/anime mystery film Black Butler. 5. Ro2 Art Downtown – Free Event!! Featuring music by THROBBERT
ON VIEW THROUGH August 12, 2014

Ro2 Art is pleased to present CHAOS – a curated exhibition of small works featuring over 100 Ro2 artists and guests. The show consists of work in virtually every medium, all presented on an intimate scale. The opening reception takes place Saturday, July 12, from 7 – 10 pm. The exhibition is on view at Ro2 Art Downtown, located at 110 North Akard Street, in downtown Dallas, running through August 12, 2014.
Special events will be scheduled throughout the month.
